Hotel de la Cite is a landmark former Cathar fort, set in stone walled gardens next to the Basilica of Saint Nazaire, three kilometres from the 17th century Canal du Midi. The hotel features 61 guestrooms, over three floors, which are classically decorated in light colours with rich wooden furniture. All offer air conditioning, cable television, desks, direct dial phones, dial up Internet access, minibars, safes and slippers. Bathrooms have bathrobes and hair dryers.
The hotel has several dining options: La Barbacane is a grand, wood panelled dining room with stained glass windows, offering an � la carte menu with an emphasis on regional cuisine and produce; Chez Saskia is an informal brasserie serving buffet breakfasts; and Le Jardin de l'Eveque offers al fresco dining on the tree lined terrace with views of the surrounding countryside.
