Set two kilometers from downtown Nimes, known as the French Rome, this Provencal hotel is set among fragrant oleander trees and Mediterranean gardens. The 26 guestrooms are decorated in simple blues and whites, with salmon pink bathrooms. All have cable television, hair dryers and linens and towels.
Guests can get help with sightseeing tips from the hotel's multilingual staff; business travelers can make use of secretarial services. In the Provencal d�cor and informal atmosphere of the restaurant, or beside the pool, typical specialities of the region are served, as well as an array of French wines. The swimming pool and gardens provide a relaxing contrast to the busy streets of Nimes' old town. The old town features the bustling Place du Marche, full of caf� terraces and pedestrianised shopping; a little further is the Musee des Beaux Arts, built around a Roman mosaic and housing work by Rubens, Delaroche and Natoire.
